JONATHAN BROUGHTON, SENIOR ANALYST, IHS MARKIT TO SPEAK AT BASE INSIGHT FORUM

The British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE) adds Senior Analyst Jonathan Broughton, IHS Markit, to the line-up of remarkable speakers for the annual BASE Insight Forum taking place on 16th March in central London.

Senior Analyst in the Home Entertainment team, Jonathan Broughton provides insight and analysis in both the digital and physical media spaces and is an expert in competitive analysis, pricing, viewing behaviour, cord cutting, VoD/SVoD consumer strategy and piracy.

In his session ‘The Evolution of Home Entertainment’, Jonathan Broughton will outline the evolution of the home entertainment space, highlighting how content monetisation opportunities now exist across a wider spectrum than ever before. Presenting key findings from IHS Markit, research covers trends in consumer behaviour, evolving business models, new technologies and the opportunities they create. This broad spectrum presentation explores the path of content through the windowing system; from cinema, physical disc, EST, VoD and pay TV.

Speaking on the event, Jonathan Broughton, Senior Analyst, IHS Markit said: “Pay TV continues to expand into more homes and the vast range of services and flexibility of connected devices means that consumers have it easier than ever to buy and rent film and TV content. Once again the BASE Insight Forum is geared up to bring delegates a packed agenda which will see a host of high profile industry experts brining to the fore opportunities and innovations to drive audience engagement and category growth. The BASE Insight Forum 2017 is a morning event from 08.30am – 1:30pm bringing together over 300 category executives from across distribution, retail and digital platforms, plus a host of delegates from the broader supply chain. Further leading speakers appearing at the BASE Insight Forum will be announced over the coming weeks.

The BASE Insight Forum, supported by the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA) will take place on Thursday, 16th March 2017 at Picturehouse Central in London. This event is free for BASE and ERA members but there will be a charge of £250 for non-members.
