DEG-INT (002)

Who We Are

The Digital Entertainment Group International (DEGI) is the pan-European industry association focused on the home entertainment sector.

Sister organisation to the DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group operating in the US, the DEG International offers a forum for member companies to engage in discussions concerning various issues and opportunities relating to emerging digital technologies, supply chain, and promoting both new and established formats.

The group also commissions research and monitors industry trends to help keep members a step ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape.

What We Intend to Do

DEGI advocates and promotes home entertainment platforms, products and distribution channels with the ultimate goal of securing the longevity of the category in Europe.

The organisation encourages knowledge sharing to spark debate and influence future initiatives for the benefit of the industry throughout European territories.

DEG International’s objectives are:

  • Bring actionable insights and relevant trends to the European market
  • Further develop a clear two-way communication channel between DEG and the DEGI for the benefit of the category to ensure worldwide collaboration, open communication and consistent messaging.
  • Add value through the provision of education and networking/discussion opportunities for members.
  • Impact change through cross category sub-groups and collaborative initiatives, steering the future of the industry and driving consumer engagement across new and existing physical and digital formats.

Key Initiatives

There are a few different sub-groups which run out of DEG International, each allowing members to focus on key areas and issues relating to the category.

Digital Sub Group

This group helps to instigate and look at how we can collectively move forward with digital growth across Europe. Doing so through seeing how initiatives have evolved and combat challenges that come with working in a multi territory capacity.

4K Working Group

Provides a forum for members to share best practice, identify opportunities to collaboratively promote 4K UHD across territories and supply its members with state of the art information on 4K UHD specifications, production and insight, whilst also enabling content providers to work together with the broader market to educate consumers on the many benefits of this next generation home entertainment technology.

Working with European partners

The DEG International makes a conscious effort to showcase European focused insight that adds genuine value and actionable outcomes with European counterparts, leveraging channels such as the International Video Federation (IVF) and its member organisations to pull interest in to DEGI, as well as offering key ‘insight’ messages where feasible to the DEGI base.
