Wednesday 26th February: Today, The British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE) announces the return of the 2025 BASE Awards, celebrating the 45th anniversary of the UK Home Entertainment industry. Taking place on the evening of Thursday, 13th November at the iconic Camden Roundhouse, this year’s event promises to be a spectacular celebration of the innovation, creativity, and passion that have shaped the sector over nearly half a century.
The 2025 BASE Awards will pay special tribute to this landmark anniversary with unique themes, retrospective highlights, and two brand-new awards: Category Hero 45: Hero of Home Entertainment will recognise an individual who has played a key part in UK Home Entertainment over the last 45 years. Category Hero 45: Champion of the Future will recognise an individual who is playing their part to shape the future of the industry, through innovation, future vision, and embracing and enabling change. Both of these awards are open to nomination from across the industry.
A celebration of innovation and excellence, the 2025 Awards will once again feature categories open to retailers, platforms, streamers, studios, distributors, agencies, and service providers, with key categories including:
- “Of the Year” Awards, celebrating outstanding success across the previous year
- “Campaign” Awards showcasing standout marketing and creative strategies
- “Best in Class” Awards rewarding excellence across formats and specialties
- “Innovation” Awards honouring creative and commercial ingenuity
- “People’s Choice and Category Hero” Awards, spotlighting individuals and moments that have shaped the industry.
Following a successful launch in 2024, The Hedy Lamarr Rising Star Award will return celebrating a female rising star in the industry. Nominations are once again open from across the industry.

We can’t wait to bring the entire industry together for what promises to be a truly unforgettable evening.”
Louise Kean-Wood, Head of Communications, Marketing and Partnerships at BASE, added: “We are so excited to launch the two Category Hero 45 Awards as part of our 45th-anniversary celebrations, and to bring back the hugely popular DEGI Hedy Lamarr Rising Star Award for Inspirational Women in Entertainment that debuted in the UK last year and has been received so positively. The Hedy Lamarr Rising Star shortlisted nominees were the first cohort of mentees to enter into the trial of the newly launched BASE Mentor Programme, which began in January and will run to June 2025.”
