The British Association for Screen Entertainment & Mumsnet Join Forces to Dispel Confusion with the ‘What to Watch’ Club

Today, the British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE), in association with FindAnyFilm.com, has announced a collaboration with the UK’s most extensive online network for parents, Mumsnet, with the launch of the ‘What to Watch’ Club, a site first for the platform, to amplify the renaissance of home entertainment that continues to emerge post-lockdown with families and parents alike.

The ‘What to Watch’ Club will recruit members of the eight million-strong Mumsnet userbase to host reviews and recommendations of the latest and greatest film and TV shows – all for that perfect night in. Mumsnetters can also expect regular exclusive competitions to win a plethora of prizes while being updated with the biggest new titles coming to the home via FindAnyFilm’s seasonal ‘What to Watch’ trailers that launch every few months.

Running from today, the ‘What to Watch’ Club will be hosted on a newly created entertainment hub via the Mumsnet website and will showcase a curated selection of the best releases available to buy and rent across disc and digital download.

The UK is a nation of film and TV lovers, with two-thirds* of Brits stating that watching film and TV was their favourite kind of entertainment, with the majority of us saying film nights bring us huge joy!

Over the next few months, there’s something for everyone, from Sandra Bullock in the comedy-adventure The Lost City, to the big screen outing in Downton Abbey: A New Era, or how about a hairbrush singalong with Camila Cabello in the magical re-imagining of Cinderella? Alternatively, immerse yourself in Disney’s magical family favourite Encanto, featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda’s stunning soundtrack, or catch up with the latest series of the scandalous Gentleman Jack. We’ve got you covered no matter what you’re in the mood for!

Furthermore, users of Mumsnet will soon see the launch of a ‘Film Friday’ newsletter, which will become the definitive voice within the community for the best film and TV shows to buy and watch.

Speaking on the partnership, Liz Bales, Chief Executive of BASE said: “This ground-breaking new partnership places transactional entertainment at the forefront of consumers’ minds and conversations, reaching the huge userbase Mumsnet has across multiple touchpoints around the site. With this campaign highlighting new releases and dispelling confusion around dating and availability, we look forward to amplifying the continued success story of disc and digital download we’ve already seen in this last year alone.”

Gemma Dick, Brand Partnerships Manager at Mumsnet added“Mumsnet are incredibly excited to be partnering with BASE to launch our very own ‘What to Watch’ Club. Mumsnet users are avid TV and film enthusiasts, and they love to talk about it, with our TV and film boards receiving 12 million page views in this year alone! Creating a ‘What to Watch’ Club will allow our users to engage with one another through their shared love of film and TV, whilst building and generating huge excitement and buzz around the power of home entertainment.”
